This verse isn't just about money, although that's certainly part of it. It's about what you value most in life. Jesus is highlighting a profound spiritual truth: your deepest affections and commitments will naturally gravitate towards whatever you consider your "treasure."
If your treasure is earthly possessions, power, or fame: Then your heart will be consumed by acquiring and maintaining these things. Your thoughts, efforts, and anxieties will revolve around them.
If your treasure is in heavenly things – like God, His kingdom, serving others, and eternal life: Then your heart will naturally be drawn towards these spiritual pursuits. Your priorities will shift, and you'll invest your time, energy, and resources in ways that reflect this divine focus.
